i must say, the ambience is pretty and comfortable. we also had a chance to choose which seafood we wanted to be baked/grilled. there's plenty of selections to choose from. for fish i mean. other than that, there's not much of other types of seafood they're offering. i'm expecting they're having bamboo lala, soft shell crab and such but they don't. i don't really care actually because i'm not a big fan of seafood.
in term of service, i think it's quite slow. because there were not so many diners when we went there but still, it's quite slow. i can't imagine if this place if busy, how slow it might get. but, i can't be biased, maybe because we're hungry to wait for our food to arrive and it somehow affect our waiting period.
these were what we've ordered.
vegetable soup. this one is sold separately. it isn't under Sekinchan Ikan Bakar and it costed rm10 for this plain broth!
the seafood. too bad i don't eat cockle much.
i think the taste of the fish was just ok. i know i'm not really good in differentiate fresh seafood or not, but from what i've tasted before, supposedly a fresh fish/seafood has its own sweet flavor of their own flesh without the aid of spicy/sauce and what not. unfortunately, not from this fish. it tasted just plain. and i thought, the sauce covered this fish is just average. still, the taste is there, but i don't think it's differs much from other ikan bakar places. this meal costed us about rm60++. what do you think?
another thing is, i think this restaurant could widen up their menu a bit. what i mean is, they still have to focus on their ikan bakar as house specialty, but i'd like to see them to put additional menus as accompaniment to ikan bakar as we know ikan bakar alone to be eaten with steamed rice is too plain and too dry. maybe they could offer tomyam soups, or vegetable dishes that would be great to go together with ikan bakar.
